Opening Weekend
We at West Shore Brewing would like to thank all the patrons that visited our establishment this past weekend. It was most enjoyable meeting everyone, while sharing many stories over a few pints. We look forward to seeing you again, along with many new friends, during our new hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Announcing our Public Opening
After many months and numerous challenges, we are proud to announce the opening of “West Shore Brewing” to the general public. As we approach the 4th of July, we will be open on Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2, from 12 Noon till 6:00pm.
These open dates will only apply to this holiday weekend, with new dates posted for the future.
Our offerings this weekend will be our own “West Shore Wheat” and “Not so Bitter Bitters” (N.B.B.), plus two guest taps.
Subsequent weeks will find tasty new brewery offerings, while we continuously improve our “Tasting Room” surroundings.
Come join us this weekend and help us to celebrate our opening!
Buffalo Brewers Festival
The 4th Annual Buffalo Brewers Festival was held on Saturday, June 24 at the Outer Harbor. West Shore Brewing proudly served a N.B.B. ESB (5.3%) and West Shore Wheat (4.6%).
How to start a successful craft beer brewery!
As we progress with our construction work, trying to open as soon as possible, a friend passed along an interesting article from “CNN Money” that truly defines our efforts to date:
“Everything is three times as expensive and takes twice as long as you think. That’s partially due to a tremendous amount of paperwork that goes along with opening a business in one of the most highly taxed and regulated industries in the country.”
Despite ongoing challenges, our passion keeps us on track. The article closes with a very poignant fact:
“There is so much room for growth. We’re a beer-loving nation first and foremost.”
We persevere…
Can-Am Craft Beer Festival
Seventeen (17) Canadian breweries will team up with seventeen (17) Buffalo-Niagara breweries to create one-of-a-kind collaboration beers that will be exclusively available at the first annual Can-Am Craft Beer Festival, set to take place April 7, 2018, in Niagara Falls, New York at The Conference and Event Center.
The actual brewing process will take place both in the Buffalo-Niagara region and in Ontario, as each Canadian brewery will host an American brewery and each American brewery will host a Canadian brewery.
West Shore Brewing will host the Niagara College Teaching Brewery (Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON) and Railway City Brewing Co. (St. Thomas, ON) will host the West Shore Brewing Company.
Location Update
After many months of preparation at a previous location, West Shore Brewing Company has found a new home at 10995 Main Street, in Clarence Hollow. Construction work is underway and progress is moving quickly. We will update our future patrons on a regular basis and look forward to “finally” opening in the very near future.
Starting to See the Light at the End of the Tunnel
Well when we officially started on this piece of track last year, we all thought it would go much smoother than it has. I guess delays were to be expected, but we always kept moving forward. Inch by Inch, slowly but surely laying down the foundation we need to be successful. Like the title says, now we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, or should I say that we can now see the light entering the tunnel (railroad pun).
A few huge steps have been taken in the past few weeks. First off, a couple weeks ago we were finally able to officially announce our location. We will be operating at 9992 Main Street in Clarence. We cannot be more thankful for the opportunity that we have at this location, plenty of parking, easy to get to and a nice size tasting room.
Next, we have ordered our brewhouse and it is scheduled to arrive in about 6 weeks! When all was said and done we decided to go a little bigger than originally planned (but still very small in the grand scheme of things) and will be operating a 3 BBL system. Now all we have to do is wait for our license to arrive and then we can open. Construction on the tasting room and brewery will begin next month. Each and every day we get one step closer to realizing this dream.
So in the mean time, we urge you to get out there and enjoy some great local craft beer, and be ready for West Shore Brewing to arrive.
